Edward E. “Jesse” Cherny 85 of Peru. Died at 8: 40 am January 30, 2014 in IVCH Peru. Private services will be at later date. Cremation rites will be accorded. Ptak Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Edward was born December 1, 1928 in Peru to Louis and Victoria (Nazim) Czerny. He married Patricia “Chiefo” Degutis-Vaccaro September 15, 1956 in the former Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in LaSalle. He worked at Maze Nail co. as a Journeyman Machinist for over 47 years. He served in Army as an MP in Korean War. He was member of the former Peru American Legion #375, the former Queen of the Holy Rosary Church and St Stephen’s Society of St Hyacinth Church La Salle. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Patricia of Peru. 1 Son Mark Cherny of Lake Wildwood. 2 daughters Michelle (Cherry Richardson) Cherny of Peru. Carrie Straube of Peru. 2 Grandsons Joshua Cherny and Raymond Straube and 1 Granddaughter Eileen (Matt) Ahl. 3 great Grandchildren Annie, Addie and Liam. 2 Sisters Lillian (Fritz) Mini of Peru and Virginia Rossok of Sandwich and his special companion his dog “LuLu” He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Memorials may be directed to St Jude’s Children Hospital.
