Raymond J. “Awa” Zebron 83 of Peru. Died 10:23 AM January 6, 2015 at St Francis Medical Center Peoria. Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday in the Ptak Funeral Home. Msgr. J. Brian Rejsek will officiate. Following the services the Peru Veterans Memorial Group will conduct a flag folding ceremony in the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at St Valentine Cemetery. Memorial Visitation will be Saturday 9:00 AM till time of services in the funeral home. Raymond was born October 15, 1931 in Peru to George and Sophia (Skowronek) Zebron. He married Clara Wojciechowski April 21, 1956 at St Valentine Church. Raymond worked as a Machinist at Westclox and then worked at Bassick Corp. in Spring Valley and then retired from Brimms Machine Shop in Peru.Raymond served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St Valentine Church and La Salle CWV. Raymond is survived by 1 daughter Bonnie (Andy) Rios of Peru and 1 son David (Margie) Zebron of Oglesby. 5 Grandchildren Andy R. (Tami) Rios, Aaron (Jenny) Rios, Bethany (Jacob) Peters, Lori (Brett) Calbow and Kelly Zebron and 5 Great Grandchildren. 1 sister Louise Sigmund of Peru. He was preceded in death by his Wife Clara in 1975, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
