She and John Chambers were married on September 13, 1947, at St. Anthony’s Church in Spring Valley. Betty was a member of St. Valentine Church. She had worked at Westclox for 21 years and then retired to spend time with the joys of her life, her grandchildren, and later, her great-grandchildren. When her grandchildren were young, she made sure that she faithfully attended their basketball and baseball games and all school functions. Her grandchildren always looked forward to staying at grandma’s house, but you had to be prepared to wake up at 6 AM when she started banging the pots and pans for your breakfast! Betty was a hard worker and a great cook, known for her famous Sunday dinners of fried chicken, risotto, gnocchi, and fresh mushrooms. She loved going mushroom hunting and dandelion picking! And it was never an official New Year’s Eve unless you stopped over for shrimp and bagna cauda! Survivors include her daughter, Mary(Mike) Leone of Peru. 3 grandchildren: Kristi (Jeremy)Pabian of Marseilles, Dr.Douglas(Dr. Adrienne Schupbach) Leone of. Bloomington, and Jason (Molly) Leone of Peru. 8 great-grandchildren: Connor Pabian, Elena, Adelyn, Zach, Arianna, Alessia, Christian, and Aliyah Leone. Betty was preceded in death by her husband John, daughter and son-in-law Rich and Linda Sarosinski, a son John Michael in infancy. 6 brothers-Joe, Frank, Henry, John, Geno, and Albert Fusinatto.4 sisters: Lena Kuffel, Frances Frasco, Norma Reese, and Marie Nimee. The family would like to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to everyone at Heritage Health Peru for their devotion and outstanding care.
