David M. Neill 78 of Peru. Passed away November 2, 2024, in Allure Healthcare Mendota. 

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday November 23, 2024, in Valley Memorial Park. Rev Ronald Margherio OSB will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. Ptak funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangement. 

Dave was born May 26, 1946, in Spring Valley, to Emmett and Cecelia (Manning) Neill. He was 1964 graduate of St Bede Academy. Dave farmed for many years and then went into sales and then retired as a meat inspector for USDA. 

He married Julie Ochuba. Dave loved sports especially Basketball and Football. He was active in the St Bede Alumni Association and attended mass at St Bede Abbey. 

Dave is survived by his wife Julie of Peru. His son Kelly (Lynn) Neill of Oglesby. Stepdaughters Gina (Mike) Shaw of Spring Valley, Naomi Ochuba of New York and stepsons Jason Ochuba of Peru and Franklin Ochuba of Peru. Grandchildren David Shaw of Spring Valley, Zachary Shaw of Spring Valley, Spencer Shaw of Spring Valley, Gianna Neill of Oglesby, and Brock Neill of Oglesby and 2 Great Grandchildren. His brother Jim (Terri) Neill of Osage Beach, MO. And his Niece Jessica. 

Dave was preceded in death by his parents. 

In lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to St Bede Academy.
