Irine M. Kurtz

Irine M. Kurtz 87 of Peru. Died March 31, 2019, in her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 AM Thursday, April 4, 2019, in St Valentine Church. The Rev Gregory Jarzombek OSB will officiate. Burial will be in St Valentine Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 PM in the Ptak Funeral Home with a 7:00 PM prayer service. There will also be an additional visitation Thursday morning in the church from 8:45 AM till time of services. Irine was born November 13, 1931, in Spring Valley to Walter and Marie (Shiejak) Koerner. She married John Kurtz April 24, 1954, in St Valentine Church. Irine was an EMT for the Peru Ambulance Service for over 26 years. She was also a seamstress in the area for many years and belonged to the sewing group the “Sew and Sews” for many years. Irine is survived by her son Charles (Linda) Kurtz of Bolingbrook. Her grandchildren Dana (Michael) Antonelli of Mahomet, IL, and Christopher (Ashley Senesac) Kurtz of Eau Claire, Wisconsin,1 Great Granddaughter Amelia Antonelli,2 brothers Richard Koerner of La Salle and Chuck (Rene) Koerner of Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews. Irine was preceded in death by her husband in 2017, 2 sons in infancy,2 brothers and 1 sister.
