James “Jim” Wroblewski 78 of Peru. Passed away July 19, 2026, after a tragic tractor accident at his” happy place” his property in Seatonville.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday July 25, 2026, in the Ptak Funeral Home. Rev Gary Blake will officiate. Graveside services will follow at St Valentine Cemetery. The Peru Veterans Memorial Group will conduct graveside military honors.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 PM in the funeral home and on Saturday from 10:00 AM till time of services. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Jim was born November 18, 1947, in La Salle to Frank and Alice (Skovronski) Wroblewski. He served in the Marine Corp. from 1965-1969. and served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. Jim married Nancy Buczkowski August 16, 1969, in St Mary Church Peru. He was a member of St Valentine Church and the Marine Corp League and was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Jim was a sheet metal worker for over 40 years with Local #1. He served on the Executive board of Trustees with the Sheet Metal Local #1 and served on the board of the Peru Girls Softball League. Jim was a retired firefighter with the Peru Fire Department. He was a member of the Illini Field Archers and bowling leagues at the Pla-Mor Lanes in La Salle. After his retirement Jim supported his grandchildren’s school and sports activities. He could be found most days working at his property. He always had a never ending long list of projects to do.
Jim is survived by his wife Nancy of 57 years, 3 daughters Judie (Cale) Fisher of Stevensville, Montana, Lisa (Dave) Goddard of Peru and Laurie (Patrick) Real of Henry. 6 Grandchildren Roland and Oliver Fisher, Grace Culbert and Andrew Goddard. Allison and Jimmy Real. Also surviving are 2 brothers Mark (Betsy) Wroblewski of La Salle and Bill (Pam) Wroblewski of Wyanet. And his Sister-in-law Debbie Grady. Also, Several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and maternal and paternal Grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be Mark and Bill Wroblewski, Dave Goddard, Cale Fisher, Roland and Oliver Fisher, Jimmy Real and Matt Wroblewski.
