June A. Barbush 80 of Chicago. Formerly of Peru, Passed away May 2, 2025, in Advocate Health Oak Lawn.

Per June’s wishes cremation rite have been accorded. A celebration of life will be Thursday June 19, 2025 from 3:00-4:00 PM with a 4:00 PM service at the First Baptist Church of La Salle, 200 24th Street La Salle. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

June was born June 6,1944 in Chicago to Bernard and Dorothy (Herzig) Shiejak.

June loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Always sending them cards on their special occasions. She had a great love for her local library, riding her bike and going out bumming. June loved to play board games with her grandchildren and also enjoyed fireworks.

June is survived by her daughter Sara Lyons of Ladd, special son Michael Mateika of Spring Valley. Her grandchildren Nicole Harris, Melissa Saeger, Michael Edgcomb, Jr., Christina Uzumecki and Victoria Lyons. Her Great Grandchildren Brooklyn, Gabriel, Naevia, Landon, Stella, Autumn, Hallie, Logan, Hudson and Aston. Her special friend Carol Sledgister.

June was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Bernard, Husband Andrew, her Son Joe and 2 Brothers Micky and Richard.
