Lois Jean Kolowski

Lois Jean Kolowski 82 of Peru. Passed away peacefully on February 13, 2023, at Manor Court of Peru where she resided for seven years. 

Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday February 18, 2023, in the Ptak Funeral Home. Fr Gregory Jarzombek OSB will officiate. Burial will be in Peru City Cemetery. 

The visitation will be Saturday from 9:30-11:00 AM in the funeral home. 

Lois was born March 15,1940 in St Mary’s Hospital LaSalle to Ray and Evelyn (Petzel) Budziak. She met Donald Kolowski while working as a lifeguard at the Peru Pool. Don and Lois were married on August 1, 1959. Lois worked at La Salle State Bank, the Unemployment Office and then the Social Security office. In 1980, Don and Lois started the Auction Service company which they greatly enjoyed. Over the years, Lois loved her golden retrievers and especially her Cocker Spaniels. Lois was also a huge Chicago Blackhawk fan and always had a good time going to home games and attending season ticket holder events. 

Lois is survived by her daughter Donna (Paul) Ristau of Peru, her son Ken (Michelle) Kolowski of Peru. 5 Grandchildren Andy (Mindy) Arnold, Sara Jean (Matthew) Dalton, Alex (fiancé Mike) Kolowski, Macy Kolowski, and Conner Kolowski. 7 Great-Grandchildren Asher, Avalean, Benjamin, Gabriel, Lauren, Madelyne and Miles and her beloved cat “Kitty” 

Lois was preceded in death her parents Ray and Evelyn (Petzel) Budziak and her Husband Don Kolowski. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Illinois Valley Animal Rescue.
