Rachael L. Strait-Konieczny

Rachael Strait Konieczny, 99, of La Salle IL died peacefully in her home on February 21, 2026.

Rachael was 1 month away from her 100th birthday. Survivors are: one brother, Charles Biggs of LaSalle IL, three sons, William L. Strait of Newport News, VA, Richard (Cindy) Strait of La Salle IL, and Joseph (Sarah) Strait of Dalzell; and two daughters, Margaret (Ali) Zamanian of Katy, TX and Roberta (Mark) Slimko of Cherry IL.,

Rachael was preceded in death by her parents John J. Biggs and Leona Gaddis Biggs; two husbands, William J. Strait and John Konieczny; daughter Sandra Kay Maben, two sons David A. Strait and Michael J. Strait; two brothers John A. Biggs and Richard Biggs; and one sister Wilma Ricci. Rachael has 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Cremation rites were accorded and burial will be at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
