Richard H. Wellner

Richard H. Wellner, 99 of Peru. Passed away May 18, 2025, in the Illinois Veteran’s Home at La Salle.

Private Graveside services will be at Peru City Cemetery. The Peru Veterans Memorial Group will conduct graveside Honors. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Richard was Born January 7, 1926, in Peru to Emil and Mary (Murphy) Wellner. Richard served in the Army from 1944-1945. He was stationed in Germany. Richard received a Purple Heart, Victory Medal and with 2 Bronze Stars He married Lila Pinn June 29, 1946.

Richard was a Tool and Die Maker at Westclox for 38 years and then retired from Caterpillar in Pontiac. He was a member of the Spring Valley Boat Club.

Richard is survived by his sons Gary (Dell) Wellner of Eureka, CA. and James (Mary) Wellner of McNabb and a special friend Don Hasselman.

Richard was preceded in death by his Wife Lila in 1998, his grandson Robert and a brother Louis.
