Ronald W. Simmons

Ronald W. Simmons 76 of Peru passed away May 24, 2021, at Heritage Health Care of Peru. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Friday, May 28, 2021, at St Patrick Church La Salle. The Rev Thomas Otto will officiate. Burial will be in St Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning in the church from 9:00 -10:00 AM. Ptak Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Ronald was born July 31, 1944, in La Salle to William and Josephine (Kirar) Simmons. He was a graduate of L-P-O Junior College and of Illinois State University. He was a Computer design engineer with Interlake Inc for many years. Ronald was a member of St Patrick Church where he was a Lecter for over 56 years and a member of the Church choir. He was a Bridge player and played competitive Contract Bridge for many years. He was also an avid Chess player and Bowler where he achieved the honor of Junior Bowling Champion in the area. He was also a member of the KSKJ Lodge #5 (American Slovenian Catholic Union). Ronald was also a die-Hard Cub fan. Ronald is survived by his cousins Frank (Robin) Kirar of Oak Lawn, IL and Michael (Susan) Kirar of Shawano, WI, and special friend Susan Russell of Utica.
