Tabitha H. Chandler, 95, of Peru, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. She will be deeply missed.
Tabitha was born December 22, 1929, in Minonk, Illinois, to Otto and Aimee (Norman) Kuehl. She married Glenn Chandler in 1950. A devoted member of Grace United Methodist Church, she loved her church family and sang joyfully in the choir for many years.
Throughout her life, Tabitha worked at Westclox, Balestri’s Restaurant in LaSalle, and delivered the News-Tribune until the age of 90. She enjoyed drawing, flowers, music, and cherished time spent with her family and her grand dogs.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Marlene) Chandler of Peru; her grandchildren Kimberly (Michael) Blaydes, Heather (Dan) Turczyn, Melissa Chandler, and Matthew Chandler; and her great-grandchildren Megan Sharp, Tabitha Sharp, and Gage Sharp.
She was preceded in death by her husband (1979), her son Richard, and her daughter Susan.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Grace United Methodist Church in La Salle, with visitation from 10:00–11:00 AM in the church. Rev. Dr. Solomon Sudhakar will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in La Salle.
